TJ began to use the bathtub to go to the bathroom for a short amount of time but started to use the litter box again. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Calm ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/16/17 Lying on his side in center of kennel with a relaxed body. He makes eye contact when I speak to him and begins to knead the air. He comes to the front of the kennel when I open the door and tries to push to push out past me into the room. He allows me to pet him on his head and body, leaning into my hand and arms with his tail quivering. He is purring throughout interaction. TJ allows touch along his whole body and enjoys all petting. 04/18/17 At the front of the kennel when I approach, vocalizing when I speak to him. He leans into my hand for petting with his tail quivering and slow blinks during session. Very affectionate guy – allows all petting. By the front of the kennel kneading the floor by the end of the session. 04/19/17 Very chatty, social and friendly. Comes over to greet. Leans against hand and solicits attention. Head butts, rolls over and nuzzles hand. Tail quivers, gets excited when rubbed. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Energetic VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, People Oriented POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: Very high energy level – TJ is an active young cat who would benefit from increased mental and physical stimulation to appropriately direct his energy. We recommend using fishing pole-type toys as they allow for vigorous and stimulating exercise. Puzzle feeders will also keep TJ engaged and exercise his brain in addition to his body. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult home only – TJ solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. Due to TJ’s rough play we feel that this cat will do best in an adult only home.
