***SAFE 03/04/18*** Tuxedo Boy Tito will make you tipsy with his love @MACC. Poor Tito was brought in by police, requested by owner. He is stressed out at the shelter and needs a very experienced foster or adopter.
Manhattan Center
Hello, my name is Tito. My animal id is #20866. I am a male black cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 16-Feb-2018.
Zip Code – 10462
Tito is at risk for behavior reasons. He is an extremely anxious cat who is very uncomfortable in the care center environment. Although he will tolerate some petting with a slow approach, we suggest he would be most suited to a cat experienced home who know how to interpret his behaviors. Medically, Tito has a small cut near his left eye, but otherwise presents as a healthy cat.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 2/17/18 Observed Behavior – growling and hissing in cat box
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 2/18/18 Small wound on face. Extremely anxious. Resting next to litter box, laying on side, eyes fully dilated. Started to whine and grumble on approach, but continued to lay in place and rolled over on back. Trembling? Sat up when door opened, started to hiss and growl. Sniffed assess-a-hand, then sat back, lifted paw as if to swat. Covered cage and left alone for now. After door closed, moved slowly over to covered side, started eating dry food. 2/19/18 Resting at back under kuranda bed, eyes fully dilated, mostly hidden behind bedding. Started growling when cage cover lifted. Lay in place when door opened, still tense. Leaned forward to sniff assess-a-hand, then leaned into pets, extended neck for throat rubs, closed eyes! Started grumbling again after a while, left alone to acclimate. 2/20/18 Resting on kuranda bed, eyes dilated. Lay in place when door opened, sniffed assess-a-hand. Briefly leaned into pets, then hissed, whined, leaned away. 2/21/18 Resting on kuranda bed, eyes wide and dilated, but soft posture. Lay in place when door opened, grumbled quietly. Sniffed hand, then leaned hard into pets, still grumbling, some tail flicking. Ate treats after door closed. Seems interested in socializing, but unsure of surroundings. 2/22/18 Resting on kuranda bed, soft posture, eyes dilated. Lay in place when door opened, leaned into pets, then started eating treats. Allowed additional pets while eating, then started to grumble and tail flick. 2/25/18 Sitting up at the front, alert, eyes fully dilated. Started meowing loudly on approach. Rubbed against the bars, leaned into pets. Leaned into further pets after door opened, yowled when pet along body, then continued to solicit head pets, though still grumbling.
