***SAFE 08/13/16*** TERRIFIC TIGER IS FIV POSITIVE!!! THAT SHOULDN’T MEAN A DEATH SENTENCE! Tiger’s intake notes are really infuriating. It is noted that Tiger spends most of the day outdoors, interacting with the stray cats in the neighborhood. It sounds like he was recently diagnosed FIV+ so he was dumped at ACC for “pet health.” Seriously?? Tiger is friendly and outgoing around people of all ages and great with other cats. Please advocate for this boy tonight. Let’s work to get him out of ACC and into a “real” forever home.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Tiger is friendly and outgoing around strangers. Around the adults in the family he is relaxed and sometimes playful. He meows for attention and rub to be petted. Tiger spends most of the day outside and he interacts with the stray cats in the neighborhood. Around other cats he is respectful and relaxed. He has never been around dogs. Reaction to assessor: Tiger does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Tiger does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Tiger remains motionless Reaction to touch: Tiger seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Tiger is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Tiger was displaying timid behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
