According to owner, Ticadeau has a history of hypertension–treatable with meds. Please help this senior girl – already spayed and hoping for a furever home. 08/21/17 14:24 Basic: Ticadeau is a 15 year old spayed domestic short hair that the owner recently got from his mother because she is too old to care for her now. The owner is surrendering Ticadeau because she is stressed out in his home environment because of his young son so she has begun spraying. Ticadeau was last at the vet about a week ago for the spraying. Ticadeau has been on medication for her blood pressure on and off, but off recently. Socialization: The owner describes Ticadeau as very shy around strangers, she hides until they leave. Ticadeau has lived with a 5 year old and she is usually tolerant of him but is also very fearful and hides from him. Ticadeau does not play with children or adults. Ticadeau has never interacted with any other animals. Ticadeau has never bitten or scratched another animal or a person. Behavior: At home, Ticadeau usually hides on fear. In a car ride, Ticadeau is quiet and relaxed. Ticadeau does not defecate outside of the litterbox. Ticadeau has never been bathed or had her nails trimmed by the owner. Ticadeau enjoys being brushed and is not bothered when she is picked up and held. Ticadeau struggles a little when she is put into her carrier. For a New Family to Know: Ticadeau is described as affectionate and playful. Ticadeau has a low level of activity. Ticadeau’s owner’s favorite thing about her is how affectionate she is. Ticadeau’s favorite thing to do is eat and sleep. Ticadeau likes to play with dancer toys. Ticadeau has been kept indoors only her whole life. Ticadeau sleeps on her own cat bed. Ticadeau is fed Fancy feast wet food, 1 can in the morning and 1 int he afternoon and also free fed Hills t/d dry food. Ticadeau uses an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter. Ticadeau scratches on carpet. Upon intake, Ticadeau was very frightened and at the back of the varrier. Ticadeau allowed being collared and having her picture be taken.

Ticadeau has a low level of activity. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/22/17- Dozing in litter box on approach, woke and lifted head when spoken to. Lay in place, leaned slightly into pets, still appeared very sleepy. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Ticadeau remains neutral, crouched position in the cage cubby during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Ticadeau remains in place, alert with normal shape eyes, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Ticadeau allows the touch and slowly leans into the assessor’s hand, but began to slowly retreat. Reaction to being picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Ticadeau interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
