Observed Behavior – very sweet but decreased responsiveness. Easily handleable. Did well for all medical handling and procedures

EENT: Eyes clear, ears have mild brown waxy debris, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: kitten dentition with adult central incisors, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MI
MSI: Ambulatory x 4 with ataxia, fleas, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: quiet, decreased responsiveness, right head turn with horizontal nystagmus with fast phase to the right, PLR wnl, CN wnl, ataxia
Assessment: Neurological disorder-horizontal nystagmus and right head turn, ataxia r/o central lesion vs inner ear vs trauma
Otitis externa
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Move to medical for daily monitoring
Otoscopic exam-dirty ear canals (brown waxy debris), unable to visualize tympanum due to small ear cone not being available
Start tresaderm AU BID x14d
Start baytril 5mg/kg PO SID x10d
Start dexmethasone 0.125mg IM SID x3d
If no improvement by tomorrow consider mannitol
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x14d
Prognosis: Fair to poor depending on progression of disease
SURGERY: temporary waiver from surgery due to illness

Basic Information: Theodore is a black and white male kitten. Upon intake Theodore had a loose wiggly body, he was lifted and transferred into a carrier. Theodore was collared, scanned and photographed.
How is this cat around strangers? Theodore was friendly with strangers, finder stated he was receptive to handling.
