Estimated age: 2-3 weeks based on dentition, gross motor skills and eyes being open
Fleas: Small amount of flea dirt.
Hx: Arrived with four littermates; two have mild conjunctivitis.
S: Mewing, allows full exam
O: BAR-H, BCS 4.5/9, MMs pink and moist, CRT <2 sec
EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. No teeth.
PLNs: Not enlarged.
Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated
M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted.
UG: Male kitten
A: Conjunctivitis in litter although this pt is not yet ill
Short-term prognosis: Good
1. Erythromycin OU BID x10 days
2. Panacur 0.1 ml PO SID x3 days – first dose given during exam
3. Ponazuril 0.1 ml PO SID x2 days – first dose given during exam
4. Wipe down with Frontline Spray
**** PLEASE NOTE **** KITTENS under the age of 8 weeks or weighing 2 pounds or less CAN ONLY be PULLED by a RESCUE!!!! IF INTERESTED, PLEASE contact a RESCUE ASAP!!!
