Medical did some bloodwork on this kitty today and he is severely anemic.
He also has a URI and overall is not thriving here…
PLEASE HELP HIM TODAY!

Basic Information:
Texas was brought in as a stray found on the clients front porch. The cat has been trying to get inside for a few weeks and appeared very skinny and ill. Texas was most likely once an indoor domestic cat.

Texas came right out of the carrier and began purring. Allowed counselor to pet her and pick her up when she jumped off the table. She began rubbing against counselors legs and ate with vigor.

History : stray 10/26, lady who dropped patient off gave 32.4mg of Phenobarbital PO to capture patient. Had URI on intake.
Subjective: QAR. No c/s/v/d but is lethargic. No apparent neuro effects from phenobarb

EENT: Eyes clear, mild serous nasal discharge
H/L: eupneic but congested
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment

Severely anemic
Stress leukogram
Prognosis: fair
Plan: NaCl 100 ml SQ, start patient on Doxycycline PO and schedule for
CBC-leukocytosis 17.93 (2.87-17.02), monocytosis 0.78 (0.05-0.67), neutrophilia 14.44 (1.48-10.29), severe anemia 15.2 (30.3-52.3)

Oral Exam: mild plaque and tartar
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, mild upper respiratory stridor
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: male , no testicles
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment – R/O Acute Phenobarbital toxicity. Feline Upper respiratory Syndrome
Prognosis: good
Plan: NaCl 100 ml SQ, start patient on Doxycycline PO and schedule for CBC/Chem tomorrow
