*** SAFE 09/14/16 *** TEDDY NEEDS TIME!! TEDDY is an ebony guy who is only four months old and needs some gentle handling. He will blossom just fine if people take their time. But we know that the ACC has time for no cat and so TEDDY only has until noon tomorrow to find a HERO!! If you can help this terrific little guy find his mojo, apply to FOSTER or ADOPT NOW!! Don’t hesitate, because the ACC certainly won’t tomorrow!! Save His Life Tonight!!

09/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Teddy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He attempted to flee as soon as his carrier was opened during intake and attempted to scratch when being handled. He was also very tense and nervous during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Teddy was meowing by the front, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Teddy stops meowing and focuses on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Teddy retreats to the back with a low body. Reaction to touch: Teddy shifts away to avoid contact and squeezes into the corner of the cage. He attempts to flee, but allows petting when cornered. His body is extremely tense and he blinks during the interaction. Placement Determination: Experienced, No Children Teddy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
