07/10/16 12:24 Basic information: Teddy is a 9 month old neutered male. He was adopted from ACC 4 days ago but returned because of allergies. The last time he was seen by a vet was 4 days ago and she has no known injuries or health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Teddy is friendly and outgoing and when he played with adults he was gentle and exuberant. He lived with children ages 11 to 13. With them he was relaxed and playful and gentle at play. Behavior: Teddy did not attempt to bite an animal or person while with his previous owner. He enjoys being picked up and isn’t bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to know: Teddy is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, and talkative with a medium activity level. The two things his previous owner liked most about him were; he’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle. When his previous owner was home he would tend to be in the same room. He was kept indoors only and at night he slept anywhere. He ate dry science diet. He is litter box trained and used a hooded litter box and clumping litter. He also used a scratching post made of carpet. Behavior during intake: Teddy was purring, head butted and kneading. He allowed me to pick him up, collar him and take his picture. He showed no signs of aggression.

Reaction to assessor: Teddy looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Teddy remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Teddy leans into the assessor’s hand, stands with tail slightly down, but began to appreciate the petting. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Teddy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
