***SAFE 08/16/17*** HANDSOME TABBY CAT TANK IS HOPING FOR A HOME OF HIS OWN BUT HE IS OUT OF TIME!! TANK was brought into the shelter by his owner who was evicted and had too many cats. TANK was described as a friendly boy but the shelter environment has gotten the best of him and he has now been given his walking papers for being shy and nervous!! TANK is healthy and so handsome and would be a wonderful companion for someone! PLEASE RESERVE TANK BY NOON!!

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: 1 Adult Behavior toward strangers: Friendly Behavior toward children: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Lived with other cats and got along well with them Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Nervous, tense but allowed all handling, no attempts to flee ENRICHMENT NOTES: 08/09/17 Sitting in litter box with ears forward. Tolerates petting along head and body while looking around the room. A bit nervous – needs more time to adjust. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Tank was alert and sitting up on top his perch. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tank keeps his tail wrapped up at his side, lip licks and stays focused on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Tank lip licks then inches away to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Tank tenses up and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. He flinches when touched and watches the assessor’s hand when touched along his back. He keeps his tail lowered, shifts his body weight and tolerates petting but moves away and retreats into his cubby when he’s had enough. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Tank may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
