KNOWN HISTORY: Taj was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She growled a few times during intake and had her ears pinned back. She allowed the counselor to handle her when distracted with food. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Allows all handling, tense EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Taj was resting upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Taj looks at the assessor, but averts her gaze afterwards. Reaction to cage door opening: Taj remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Taj was a bit hesitant, but accepts petting and pushes her head up against the assessor’s hand. She begins to purr, knead, and rolls over during the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Taj remains soft and continues to purr when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Curious, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Taj interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
