A1116698 Sylvester – Adult only determination; Previous owner reports he hides around strangers. He becomes tense when approached for interaction and focuses on his caretakers. He remains very still when touched and focuses on the assessor’s hand when touched along his body. He appears very tense and uncomfortable, but tolerates petting.

Reaction when softly spoken to: Sylvester watches the assessor with wide focused eyes and doesn’t come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Sylvester remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sylvester lip licks and watches the assessor intensly as he approaches. He doesn’t react when touched on his head, his body feels tense and he follows the assessor’s hand when touched along his back. He nervous and stays curled up in his litter box where he comfortable. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult home only – Sylvester tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. He may have some behavioral issues that will need to be addressed in the home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
