***SAFE 04/26/16*** AS SWEET AS HER NAME IMPLIES! Her former owner said the best thing about Sweetness is that she is “Sweet,” which may be how this spayed lady got her name 3 years ago. This glossy beauty is described by her former owner as being “shy,” which means the ACC must be especially terrifying for her. Sweetness earned a respectable EXPNOCHILD rating, and is counting on a foster/adopter to save her life tonight!

04/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sweetness former owner stated around strangers she is shy and will hide. She has not been too friendly with the children that live in the home. She lived in a home with two other cats and played well with them. Also, described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive, fearful (of loud noises) & quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Sweetness looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Sweetness remains crouched positon at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Sweetness accepts a stroke, but becomes agitated to the touch then hisses and attempts to swat at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Sweetness solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to hiss and swat at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Sweetness becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
