06/28/17 17:42 Basic Info Suzie is a 2 year old DSH whose owner had too many pets and could not keep her. Suzie has never been to a vet before but has no medical issues. Socialization Suzie is very calm and relaxed around strangers but also aloof. She has not ever lived with children but lives with several other cats and she is relaxed around them but not very playful but is calm in her interactions. She has never been around dogs before. Suzie has never bitten a person or animal before. Behavior Suzie does not scratch on furniture or try to escape the house but she does like to run to the first step and look outside. She does not have litter box accidents. Suzie is not bothered by being bathed or by being put into a carrier. She struggles when having her nails trimmed, coat brushed or being held. New Family Suzie has a low level of energy at home and keeps to herself mostly but has moments where she comes to sit next to you to be pet. She does not play with toys and is kept solely indoors. She sleeps on a cat bed and is fed Purina wet and dry food. She has an uncovered litter box and had a scratch post made of carpet Intake Behavior Suzie is very tense during intake and when being held and will flee when put down but allows all handling for scanning and runs away and ducks when being collared but allowed restraint. Behavior toward cats: relaxed around them but not very playful but is calm in her interactions Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Other notes: Previous owner stated she has a low level of energy at home and keeps to herself mostly but has moments where she comes to sit next to you to be pet. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/29/17- Subjective: Quiet, calm, allows all handling. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/29/17- Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Lay in place when door opened, leaned hard into pets, purred, closed eyes. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Suzie immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Suzie remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Suzie head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Suzie interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
