***SAFE 09/17/17 *** This senior sweetheart is underweight but is now eating kitten food well and gaining weight. She has a lip ulcer which is also healing. She has been a stray so needs to be given a chance and also could use a competent vet visit. ORDER SOME “SUSHI” TAKE OUT TONIGHT!!

09/12/2017 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 NC – SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 4.6 LBS.
Cage exam-recheck decreased appetite, dehydration, and emaciation History : stray intake 8/31. Was dehydrated and given SQ LRS x3d. BW showed: Blood work results 9/5: EOS 0.16 (0.17-1.57) Retic 216 (3.0-50) PLT 58 (151-600) Rest of CBC and Chemistry WNL creatnine borderline low 0.8 (0.8-2.4) and BUN 17 (16-36) Subjective: BARH. Eating royal canin kitten food well. No c/s/v/d. Seems to be overall doing much better and gaining weight. Objective BCS 3/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: moderate dental calc, no lingual ulcers noted but there is a ulcer on the upper lip that appears to be healing well MSI: Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment Underweight- R/O GI disease vs endocrine disease vs renal disease vs starvation vs other Swollen, ulceration lip- R/O eosinophillic granuloma vs trauma vs other-improving Fleas-resolved Plan Recheck appetite and hydration in 5 days CTM while at BACC Prognosis: fair to good

08/31/17 10:05 Finder did not have any interaction with animal as the animal was in a trap. Finder has seen Sushi coming to the yard for a few days now and whenever the finder would try to approach, Sushi would run away. Behavior during intake: Sushi had a soft and relaxed body during intake. Counselor was able to transfer, scan for a mc, collar and take a picture without any issues. After a few minutes, she began to solicit attention by rubbing against counselors hand.

KNOWN HISTORY: Sushi was brought into our care center as a stray so we have no previous history available. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – friendly EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Sushi is sitting crouched in front of her kennel as the assessor approaches. Ears are forward. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sushi vocalizes softly when spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Sushi remains in the front of her kennel with a relaxed body as the cage door opens. Reaction to touch: Sushi allows petting along her head and body. She leans in and head-butts the assessors hand. Tail is raised. Reaction to being picked up: Sushi allows the assessor to pick her up and carry her with a tense body for a few moments. She then jumps back into her kennel. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, People Oriented BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Sushi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and allows all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
