I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 05/07/2017 from NY 10475, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-096437.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Skittish ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/8/17- Declawed, Curled up behind litter box, head down, eyes dilated. Held completely immobile when door opened and litter box was moved. No response at all to touch. Sprayed feliway. 5/9/17- Curled up at back of cubby, head down, eyes dilated. Curled up tighter when door opened. Lip licked when pet, no other response. Showed no interest in treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Sushi looks tense crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to door opening: Sushi becomes alert with dilated eyes, stiff body. Reaction to touch: Sushi allows the touch, but looks away and shows no interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Sushi may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
