04/15/17 19:14 During intake Sunshine allowed all handling from the counselor and allowed the counselor to look inside mouth, lift up and pet, scratch under chin. Sunshine had very dilated pupils. The police who brought Sunshine in also stated that he was very friendly and affectionate with them when they picked him up.

04/24/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Sunshine was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He allowed all handling during intake and did not display any signs of aggression. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Quiet, moves slowly, but explores table and allows all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 4/17/17 – Resting in litter box, eyes somewhat dilated. Soft posture. Sat up when door opened, ducked away from head pets, leaned slightly into body pets. Lay back down shortly after, didn’t really seem interested in socializing. 4/18/17 – Laying next to litter box, soft eyes and body, appeared to be dozing off. Sat up when door opened. Tolerated pets, seemed much more interested in treats, but lifted rear for butt scratches. 4/19/17 – Laying next to litter box, alert and wide-eyed, but otherwise soft. Hesitated briefly when door opened, then allowed and started to lean into pets, quiet purring. Sprayed feliway. 4/20/17 – Further improvement! Came to the front on approach, chirped, rubbed against bars. Stayed at the front when door opened. Leaned and arched into pets, purred. 4/23/17 – Came to the front on approach, soft eyes and body. Started meowing and rubbing against the bars. Leaned and arched into pets, and purred. Ate offered treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Sunshine lays in place and looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sunshine continues to lay in place and look at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Sunshine stands and comes to the front of the kennel. Reaction to touch: Sunshine leans and arches into the stroke, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Sunshine sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Easy going, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Sunshine interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Sneezing, sniffly resp sounds. No ocular discharge. In adjacent cages to 3 other cats who were also diagnosed with URI today. These signs are consistent with mild URI. Move to isolation, start doxycycline 0.9 ml PO SID x10 days. 1088
