***SAFE 05/19/16*** ANOTHER CHANCE FOR STRUDEL!! STRUDEL is a gorgeous female 2 year old cat, mostly white with a little gray patch on her head. What a cutie! She was found outside someone’s front door in the Bronx, probably looking for a home and some food! She was probably someone’s cat at some point, because she’s open to affection and well-fed! Sweet STRUDEL is sadly on tomorrow’s list for lethal injection if no one comes forward to save her! STRUDEL would make a great pet in an experienced pet home with no children. She is a talker and appreciates petting, but she’s still a little stressed out at the shelter and needs and may need a little time to adjust to her new home. She has a small cold and needs follow up care from a vet, but besides that she’s in great health! Who can resist that cute face? Please foster or adopt sweet STRUDEL today!!!

04/30/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/30/16 19:01 Strudel A1072076 is a young white & gray DSH feline who was found in front of the finder’s door a couple of days ago in the Bronx. The finder isn’t able/willing to keep her/him. The finder stated she/he was friendly and allowed them to place food into the carrier she/he was found in and to bring to our BXAC. During intake Strudel had a soft body & soft eyes. She/he allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. After a few minutes Strudel low growled and hissed as he/she looked around at the other cats but still allowed to be picked up and placed into a kennel with ease. Strudel didn’t like when I went to lift his/her tail to determine whether he/she was a male or female and he/she hissed & low growled as well. When spoken too Strudel will “talk” back.

05/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Strudel looks neutral, sitting upright by the front of the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Strudel stands with tail up, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Strudel head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes she began to hiss then attempt to nip while she continued to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Strudel tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
