STRIPES – 29399
Safe - 6-13-2018 Brooklyn
SAFE 6/13/18 STRIPES is patiently waiting for his forever home @BACC! A volunteer writes: If you give him a few treats, he is your BFF. Super affectionate with nothing but head scratches and purrs once he gets to know you. Stripes is ready, willing and able to have lots of fun and cuddles. He was sleeping when I first saw him, but he was instantly awake and joyful to interact. He rolled on his side in happiness and trust–or was he just trying to look cute for me? He lovingly swiped me with his cheeks and head when I petted him. He is really so sweet-natured and handsome with beautiful soulful eyes. He does not have to try to look cute at all. He already is. Fall for this cutie by coming to the Brooklyn ACC today.
Poor STRIPES was dumped by his owner. He needs a new furever home where he can feel loved and safe again.

Stayed at back of cage but allowed all handling and sought attention and offered belly.
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
05/28/18
Lying in back of kennel, body low and slightly tense. Head is lowered onto kennel floor. He tolerates petting along his head and body while remaining still and calm – little response. May be nervous. Needs time to adjust.
05/30/18
Lying in cubby, ears forward and body relaxed. Appears to be relaxed. Flinches and continues to doze when touched. Calm – totally knocked out. Will check on him later.
06/04/18
Lying in front of kennel, ears forward and head lowered onto kennel floor. Raises head as kennel door opens and allows petting along head and body while turning head to watch my hand. Turns head and body away from me and settles back down, titling ears and wrapping tail around body. Not too interested in interaction. Not interested in treats. Seems lethargic.
06/05/18
Lying in front of kennel, body neutral and ears forward. Head is lowered onto kennel floor. Tolerates petting along head and body initially while turning head to smell my hand, then begins to lean in gently. Makes eye contact with soft eyes. Calm and mellow, appreciated and accepted all petting for duration of today’s session. Did well! Not too interested in treats.
06/06/18
Lying in back of kennel, ears forward and eyes closed. He makes eye contact as kennel door opens and allows petting along his head and body while leaning in gently and raising his rear and tail high into the air as my hand passes along his back. Leans in for cheek and chin rubs. Sweet, mellow guy. Did well today!
06/07/18
Did a little clicker training – rewarded with temptation treats when she solicit attention. Leans in for attention, arches body and gives head butts. Seems much more comfortable, appreciates attention.

Reaction to touch:
