Standly remains calm and makes eye contact with the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Standly lip licks then lowers his head and turns away from the assessor.

Standly tenses up and focuses on the assessor.
Reaction to touch:
Standly seems unsure of his surroundings but leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand when approached. He leans in for rubs and closes his eyes when pet on his head and along his back. His body perks up over time, he builds up confidence and slowly approaches the front of the kennel seeking attention.
H – Healthy
Standly may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

Standly has had litter box issues since a kitten. Standly shared a litter box 2 other cats. He uses the bathroom in different parts of the house or near his litter box. The owner cleaned the litter box 2-3 times a week.
Standly is gray DHS cat that is 12 year old. He was a gift from a litter of kitten. The owner is surrendering Standly due to another family member having allergies to the cat.

How is this cat around strangers?
When strangers come over he keeps his distance and meow. Sometimes he will approach and sniff. But prefer to stand away. He takes a few days to warm up to new people.
How is this cat around children?
He has been introduced to a new born and children of various ages. He keeps his distance and will approach to sniff.
How is this cat around other cats?
Standly lived with 2 other altered cats in the home. The cats lived in harmony sometimes engaged in play around the house. Standly sometimes hisses at them and prefer to lounge around the house.
How is this cat around dogs?
Never introduced to dogs.
He allowed to be bathed once. The owner has never trimmed his nails. He enjoys his coat brushed. He sometimes allows to be petted.
Never had a bite history.
