KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward strangers: Unknown Behavior toward children: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Lived with other cats and got along well with them Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Other notes: He enjoys petting and uses a scratching post MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Slightly tense, difficult to get out of carrier, allowed all handling EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Squiggle was lying down at the front of the cage and inched away when the assessor approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Squiggle meows softly then curls up tight with his tail wrapped around his body. Reaction to cage door opening: Squiggle remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Squiggle leans back, dodges the assessor’s hand and moves to the other side of the double cage. He’s hesitant of contact, lowers his head and squints when touched gently on his head. He nudges the assessor’s hand, leans in for attention but stays near the back of the cage where he feels comfortable. Reaction to being picked up: Squiggle was tense when picked up, then got antsy and leaped away. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Squiggle may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his/her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
