Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Skittish MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – hissing, trying to bite ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/10/17- Curled up at back, seems very sick, miserable. Fur looks wet? Hissed when door opened. Flinched, became tense, and started hissing louder when attempted touch. No interest in treats. 5/11/17- Curled up in litter box, stiff posture, eyes dilated. Litter stuck to nose and mouth, seems miserable. Hissed repeatedly and flattened ears when pet. Eventually shifted further back to avoid touch. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Spice looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Spice becomes alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Spice hisses when touched and began to retreat away from the assessor’s hand. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Spice may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
