11/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sphere was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sphere was hiding inside his feral den at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sphere makes eye contact through the den’s air hole, stress meows and doesn’t come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Sphere lies motionless. Reaction to touch: Sphere is hesitant of contact, keeps his body low and feels confident inside his den and doesn’t come out. He continues to stress meow, flinches when touched, appears uncomfortable and slowly moves away. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sphere tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
