05/16/18
Lying in back of litterbox, body low and tense. Tolerates petting along head and body while turning head slowly to watch my hand and licking lips. Tilts ears and looks away from me. Nervous and unsure, needs more time to adjust.
05/17/18
Lying on top of kennel, body low and tense. Makes eye contact with ears forward. Tolerates petting along head and body while lowering herself to the floor and tilting her ears. I click and reward each time she allows a pet along her head and body. Likes treats – will continue to clicker train.
05/20/18
Lying in back of kennel, body relaxed and ears forward. Eyes are alert. She allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and raising her rear and tail high into the air each time my hand passes along her lower back. Sweet and timid – warms up once approached. Doing better! Remains in back of her kennel where she feels more comfortable.
05/21/18
Standing in front of kennel, ears forward. Vocalizes softly and head-butts kennel door. Allows petting along head and body while leaning in and rolling over onto her side. Her tail begins to thump up and down with continued petting, ears remaining forward. Continues to allow petting. Bats at my hand as I’m pulling it away, then comes forward to eat all treats offered. Doing better today! Bold and affectionate. May be showing signs of overstimulation.
05/22/18
Sitting upright in kennel, ears forward and eyes alert. Stands up as kennel door opens and she steps through her portal as I reach towards her, tail raised. She comes back forward for treats and allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and raising her rear and tail high into the air. Allows all petting for the remainder of the session. Timid initially, warms up and appreciates attention once approached. Showing improvement – did well today.
