09/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Space was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Space was hiding in his feral den at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Space is curious and slowly comes out the den with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Space is alert and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Space leans away from the assessor’s hand and presses his body up against the back wall. He allows petting but is very tense and is unsure of contact. He lip licks, looks around at his surroundings then slowly shifts away. Reaction to being picked up: Space is tense, struggles and leaps back into the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience Space may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
