***SAFE 06/18/16*** RARE ORANGE FEMALE NEEDS A NEW FRIEND TONIGHT! SOLI is a gorgeous 8 year old orange and white lady. Most orange kitties are male, so this baby girl is a gem! Poor Soli lived with her previous family since she was found as a tiny kitten. Now at 8 years old she’s been dumped off along with her housemate NIKA – A1074628 (not listed tonight) for her “owner’s” personal problems! How awful! She’s earned an EXPNOCHILD rating. She appreciates petting and offers head butts! Check out her loving volunteer notes: “Soli is the sweetest of the sweet! She has a gentle meow that says be my friend and pet me. She LOVES being petted by her ears. She purrs in thanks. Soli is waiting for her forever human. If relaxing with a hugabunny is on your menu then Soli is your gal. You can find this honey at the Manhattan Care Center. ” Soli lived in harmony with 2 children her entire life, they grew up together! She also played respectfully with 2 dogs and her kitty friend in her previous home. She truly is a good girl, but the ACC don’t care. She’s caught the kitty cold, and instead of giving her the simple dose of antibiotics she needs to cure it, they will KILL HER AT NOON TOMORROW! Please don’t let this poor girl’s life end knowing nothing but betrayal-advocate for her TONIGHT!

05/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Soli’s former owner described her as being shy and “anti-social” when meeting strangers, and comfortable and affectionate with the 13, and 15-year olds she’s lived with since a kitten. Soli lived with another female cat for the past eight years, and says the two are tolerant and respectful but occasionally argue and hiss at each other. Soli also lived with a male and female pit-bull and owner says she is very respectful and playful with the dogs. Reaction to asessor: Soli looks neutral, sitting upright on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Soli remains in place, meowing attention. Reaction to touch: Soli head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, she becomes agitated to the touch and nips while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Soli solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to nip at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Soli becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
