Hello, my name is Snape. My animal id is #19533. I am a male black cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 30-Jan-2018.
Snape is being placed at risk for behavior. Snape is stressed and overwhelmed in the care center and would benefit from being placed in a home environment. We recommend he go to an experienced cat adopter. Snape does have a heart murmur.

Behavior Condition: 1. Green
Counselor was able to use a towel to pick up Snape and carry out of large carrier. Allowed counselor to collar and pet and take picture.
KNOWN HISTORY:: Snape was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 1/30/18 Observed Behavior -allows exam, calm
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Snape remains tense, crouched position on his cage bedding during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Snape becomes alert with eyes wide open, pupils dilated.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Snape quickly retreats into the cage cubby, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Snape is anxious, looking around, stiff body while accepting the touch with no interest towards the interaction.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Laid back
VOCAL:: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: : Skittish,Independent
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Experience
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
