KNOWN HISTORY:: Snacks was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 1/9 Observed Behavior -shy/nervous but docile and allowed handling for exam; growled during tech check
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Conjunctivitis, possible flea allergy. Curled up asleep on bedding at back. Woke when door opened, lay in place, soft eyes and body. Leaned into pets, purred, lifted rear for butt scratches.
Cage Condition:: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor:: Snacks remains neutral, lying down on his cage bedding during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Snacks chatters back when spoken to.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Snacks stands with tail up, eyes wide open, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Snacks was hesitant, but head bunts the assessor’s hand. After a few strokes he slowly increased distance, squinting and randomly hissing. However, he seems to be conflicted and continued to solicit while chatting and low tail flicking in place.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Mellow
VOCAL:: Talkative
CHARACTER TYPE: : Curious,Independent
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Experience
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Snacks may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
