*** SAFE 11/16/17 *** VIDEO & NEW PHOTOS! A volunteer writes: Smudge is a sweet little sleepyhead who was relinquished to the Care Center by his previous owner. It’s hard for a sensitive cat like Smudge to get used to a new place, but so far, he’s doing great: Smudge is calm, accepts pettings and attention from humans, and has given no indication that he’s anything other than a well-mannered house cat who belongs back on a living room couch. His former people vouched that he’s friendly and outgoing with strangers and has the litterbox thing down pat. Our behavior team also found him to be nicely behaved, though he’s understandably a bit timid and cautious. If your kind of pet is a soft, furry loverboy who wants to make friends but takes his own time doing it, you must meet the Smudgester today!
**SMUDGE was adopted as a kitten but now owner has dumped him in the shelter. He is a calm and quiet boy and would love a furever home.
MANHATTAN CENTER
Hello, my name is Smudge. My animal id is #10778. I am a desexed male brown tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 25-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal.
Smudge is at risk due to being overwhelmed in shelter. Smudge tends to hide and stays in his cubby due to stress from shelter environment, but will warm up to petting and attention. There are no know behavior concerns for Smudge at this time.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
