***SAFE 08/04/17***GOOD BEHAVIOR RATING…SMOKEY is a 7 year old neutered male that was surrendered due to landlord issues. He has a painful dewclaw on one foot – Please consider making him part of your family – A volunteer writes: Smokey is a total love bug panther boy. He was a bit shy at first and had his eyes averted toward the ground. However, when I began to pet his cute little head he peered up at me with the sweetest look on his face that seemed to say, “Thank you so for the love and attention, friend” This guy is gentle and friendly and needs a safe place to call home. If you are looking for a calm new best buddy, please come visit Smokey at Manhattan Animal Care Center.

Behavior: Smokey is known to have good behavior and will sleep throughout during car rides. You will struggle with Nike when attempting to give him a bath or trim his nails but he enjoys being brushed, being picked up, being placed in a carrier and isn’t bothered when being disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Smokey is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, independent, talkative and somewhat fearful in new environments. He has a medium activity level, will greet you at the door when you come home, will follow you around when home with you and has no interests in toys. He has been kept indoors only, prefers to sleep on hard surfaces, ate 9 lives dry food 3x a day, is considered to be litter box trained, prefers an uncovered litter box with pellet litter and has no interests in scratching posts. Intake: Upon intake Smokey allowed all handling, being collared, having his picture taken and being placed in a crate.
