07/21/17 13:16 Basic Info Sly a 6 month old, white and black, male kitten was surrendered by owner who stated that he was evicted from his apartment and can no longer keep her. Sly does not have any injuries or health concerns. Socialization Sly tends to by shy around strangers. He would hide from strangers at initial encounter but would get closer and be friendly after a few minutes have passed .He did not spend time with children but lived and spent time at home with several other cats. According to owner, He is relaxed, affectionate and respectful around the other cats. She lived at home with one big dog and two small dogs and loves to play and run around the house with them. He was respectful and very tolerant and exuberant with especially the large dog. Sly has never bitten a person or another animal. Behavior Sly does not scratch on furniture or have litter box accidents. He has never been bathed or had his nails trimmed or fur brushed. He is not bothered when picked up or held. For a New Family to know Sly is a friendly and playful kitten with a medium activity level. He is a very loving kitten who loves to run around and play with owner’s dogs. Owner stated that He would follow him around at home and enjoys playing and chasing balls. Sly was kept mostly indoors and slept on owners couch or bed or wherever he feels comfortable. Owner fed him dry cat food (Meow mix) once daily. He is house trained and used an uncovered litter box with crystal litter. Behavior during Intake Sly maintained a soft posture and meowed softly when held. He head butted, purred, allowed petting and took treats gently. He allowed to be collared, photographed and put in a kennel.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – friendly, allowed PE EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Sly was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sly looks at the assessor and remains in place. Reaction to cage door opening: Sly appeared alert, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Sly appeared unsure at first, but accepts petting and warms up quickly. He leans in for cheek rubs, rolls over, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Sly is a bit tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Sly interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
