Sleet came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Sleet was fearful and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Sleet is hiding inside her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sleet shifts inside her den. Reaction to cage door opening: Sleet is pressed against the back of the den. Reaction to touch: Sleet moves away to avoid touch, searching for a way to flee. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Sleet avoids interaction with the assessor and does not allow handling. Sleet is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
