11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Skippyo was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home. He allowed minimal handling during intake and attempted to flee during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Skippyo was lying down with his ears tilted, neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Skippyo looks at the assessor, and then lowers his gaze. Reaction to cage door opening: Skippyo becomes alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Skippyo sniffs the assessor’s hand and is tense, but he allows gentle petting on his head and body. His eyes soften and he blinks softly during the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced Skippyo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
