Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sir H was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He didn’t allow handling upon intake, hissing and swatting when approached. However, he allowed handling during his initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Sir H becomes stiff and alert when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sir H appears tense and his ears tilt sideways slightly. Reaction to cage door opening: Sir H lowers his body and lies flat against the ground. Reaction to touch: Sir H appears extremely tense with extended hand and his ears bend flat against his head. He remains immobile and allows touch with a slow approach, but flinches when touched on his back and looks very uncomfortable, breathing rapidly and had wide eyes. He appears wary of his surroundings, but does not display any further reaction. Placement Determination: Experienced, No Children Sir H tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
