09/07/17 13:49 Basic Information Simba is a four year old, gray and white, male cat. He was surrendering by owner due to health reasons. Owner stated that his sister gave Simba to him four years ago when he was a kitten. Simba’s last vet visit was in May 2016 and he has no visible signs of injury or illness. Socialization Simba is very friendly around strangers. He lived at home and spent time with owner’s 13 year old cousin and was relaxed, very affectionate and respectful around him. He is equally gentle when playing with adults and children. He lived and spent time at home with two other cats ages two and four and was relaxed and respectful around them. Simba also lived at home and spent time with two small dogs ages six and seven and was relaxed, affectionate and respectful around them, Owner stated that they all played together all the time. Simba has never bitten a human or another animal. Behavior Simba only meows when his food bowl is empty or he needs owner’s attention. He does not scratch furniture and is generally well behaved. He meows a little when riding in a bus. Simba sometimes sprays urine at home because owner did not have him neutered. According to owner, the vet informed stated that Simba would stop spraying as soon as he gets neutered. Simba struggles when given a bath but isn’t bothered if you trim his nails. He enjoys his coat brushed, allows you to pick him up but struggles and meows if held for too long. He isn’t bothered if placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a new Family to Know Simba is friendly, affectionate, playful and mellow cat with high energy. He loves to sit by the window and watch people and cars pass by. He’ll usually be in his favorite spot at home, did not really play with toys and was kept mostly indoors. He slept on owner’s bed or on the couch and was fed dry cat food (Purina indoors) three times daily. He is house trained and used a hooded litter box mixed with clumping and crystal cat litter. Simba scratched on a cardboard type scratch post. Behavior during Intake Simba had a relaxed body, moved around a lot but allowed to be collared, photographed and placed in a kennel.
