SAFE 4/2/18 SILK is a young kitty who was found with his housemates in an apartment after owner died. They were there at least 2 weeks without food or water, and some were in cages. SILK has a paw pad wound from ingrown nails and is thin and dehydrated. He needs a home where he can get follow up care. Please consider helping him and maybe a housemate.

History : Multiple cats were found in various floors/rooms with no access to food/water due to MOST of them being locked in dog crates and carriers. O passed away 2 weeks ago.
Observed Behavior – nervous but amenable to exam
Evidence of Cruelty seen – No
Evidence of Trauma seen -No
EENT: mild ocular dc, mildly sunken eyes OU, ears: clear and no dc.
Oral Exam: moderate dental tartar and gingivitis. few resorptive lesions.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, mm light pink and mildly tacky Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, no palpable bladder.
U/G: testicles symmetrical and descended
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, unthrifty hair coat, overgrown nails of LF paw pad into paw pad.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: normal externally
Assessment: Mild dehydration
LFL Paw pad wound
Plan: 50 ml LRS SQ scheduled
Simbadol for 6# sq scheduled
Monitor LFL and appetite
