SHAWN – A1064137
Safe - 2-7-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
*** SAFE 02/07/16 *** FIV+ and BEGINNER-rated, SHAWN is a lovely boy who has probably been looking out for himself for a while. His “unkempt coat” hides a heart of gold and it would be a shame for him to be killed on a night when there are only TWO CATS on the list. Please take advantage of this small list to spend loads of extra time on helping Shawn! This handsome guy deserves a happily-ever-after so please find a FOSTER or ADOPTER for him, tonight!

02/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Shawn and at the time he gets up and comes forward seeking attention. He is a little hesitant but allows petting all over. Reaction to assessor: Shawn does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: Shawn comes to the front of cage soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: Shawn remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Shawn solicits petting and attention Try picking cat up: Shawn is tolerant of this type of handling Behavior Determination: Beginner Shawn was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Shawn is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.
