Safe - 7-29-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 07/29/16*** SHADOW is a sweet handsome neutered male brown striped tabby who was rescued from a hoarding situation and brought to the shelter, where his life is on the line tonight. SHADOW is a gentle guy who isn’t very happy at the shelter. Can you blame him? SHADOW is 9 years and has lots of love to give if given the chance! He’s open to petting and affection, but he’s a little shy. He would do wonderfully with an experienced cat owner, who would give him time to come out of his shell. SHADOW is sad right now, but he would be so happy to be rescued and have a warm place to sleep! This sweet guy has definite lap cat potential. Please RESCUE HANDSOME SHADOW TODAY!!!

07/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
**Update 07/27** Shadow does not appear to be acclimating well to the adoptions room. He tolerates some petting, but has attempted to escape a few times. He does not seem to be warming up to his caretakers and appears dull when approached for interaction. Due to Shadow’s stress levels in this kennel environment, we recommend that he move into a stable home environment as quickly as possible. Date: 07/21/16 Reaction to assessor: Shadow looks tense, crouched position at the back of the cage when approached. Reaction to door opening: Shadow becomes alert with eyes wide open and yowling in place. Reaction to touch: Shadow accepts the stroke, but remains stiff and shows no interest to the touch. Placement determination: Experience Shadow tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
