08/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Serenity was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Upon intake Serenity was shy for introduction, turning away and very still but wasn’t defensive or stiff. Reaction to assessor: Serenity was sitting down on her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Serenity rises up slowly and lightly brushes up against the kennel door. Reaction to cage door opening: Serenity remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Serenity comes forward and sniffs the assessor’s hand. She lip licks occasionally and seems a little unsure of contact. Her body is soft, she rolls around and rubs up against the assessor when pet along her body. Reaction to being picked up: Serenity is tense and struggles to be put down when held. Behavior Determination: Experience Serenity may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents
