A volunteer writes: Serena is not sure how she feels about being in the shelter and seems a little cautious when I open her door. But as soon as I start to stroke her, she relaxes and begins to purr. She allows petting from head to toe. When I take my hand away to fix her blanket, she pushes her nose into my arm as if to say, “Hey, why did you stop”? And what a nose it is — she has a striking white stripe down her nose. Perhaps she is named after the lightning serves of her tennis namesake.
