He will cry and meow. He has urinated outside of his litter box but only when the box isn’t kept clean. He does not like the bath or getting his nails trimmed but he loves being brushed. 06/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sebastian’s previous owner reports he is shy for a few minutes when he meets someone new. He has limited experience with children, and isn’t very playful with them. He is gentle when playing with adults, however. He has spent time with a male kitten and he kept his distance from him most of the time, but did play a little rough with the kitten. He had accidents urinating outside of his litter box when the box wasn’t kept clean. He was best described as affectionate, mellow, shy, and fearful. He is known for being a very calm cat. Reaction to assessor: Sebastian was inside of a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sebastian becomes alert and looks at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Sebastian remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sebastian was hesitant, but sniffs the assessor’s hand. He accepts petting and leans in slightly, but appears unsure and wraps his tail around his body. Behavior Determination: Experience Sebastian tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
