BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Screetcher and at the time she was nursing her babies. Screetcher hisses as you approach and allows no contact.
Reaction to assessor: Screetcher watches the assessor tensely from the back of the cage
When spoken quietly: Screetcher continues watching the assessor tensely from the back of the cage
Reaction to door cage opening: Screetcher remains motionless and hisses
Reaction to touch: Screetcher starts to back away as her eyes widen. Sceetcher does not a allow petting
Try picking cat up: Did not attempt
Behavior Determination: NewHope
Sceetcher seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Screetcher may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
