Microchip: positive
Sex: presumed intact female, could not palpate a spay scar, doughy ab with muscle wasting
Age: appx 8y+
Mentation: BARH
Eyes: clear
Ears: clean
Nose: no d/c
Teeth: moderate staining
If abnormal BCS: slightly overweight, 6/9
Skin: prolonged turgor (alone in home for unknown amount of time), drinking on her own
Hair Coat: unkempt but WNL
Declawed: no
Any injuries: no
Behavior: allowed all handling, friendly and enjoyed petting
Medication: N/A, preventatives given
Re-Exam (2/25/17)
S/O: BAr, friendly, purring, allowing all handling, docile
ABN: SNP, but approx3cm firm mass palpated in mid abdomen, non-painful
EENT: no palpable thyroid nodule, mild gingivitis and tartar with possible resportive lesions in caudodorsal dental arcades
UROGEN: palpable spay scar, no MGTs
H/L: purring, but eupneic, unable to ascult cardiac sounds d/t purring
SKIN: NSF, slow skin tent
LN: NSF
NEURO: NSF
A: r/o abdominal mass- benign vs. malignant
mild dehydration approx 5%
mild periodontal and dental dz, possible resorptive lesions
P: 100ml LSR SQ, then 75ml SQ SID x2 more days
check app
2v abdominal radiographs- mass visible on radiographs in mid/caudal abn
CBC/chem: neutrophilia with suspected bands, increased ALK PHOS: 256, increased GGT 20U/L, moderate anemia 23.2%. Will add convenia 80mg/ml: 0.4ml SQ once to treatment
rec T4 (unavailable in house), UA
prognosis: open- may warrant further diagnostics such as abd ultrasound to confirm mass, and then would require bx to determine etiology-if p stable and comfortable, can either pursue full workup or pursue symptomatic care until p status declines. Less of a priority depending on nature of suspected mass- dental px with likely extractions

Resp: purring, difficult to ascult, eupnic
Abd: approx 4-5cm diameter round mass in caudal abdomen
UG: spayed female
MS: 4x ambulatory, moderate generalized mm atrophy, BCS 3/9 with a ventral abdominal fat pad indicative of recent wt loss
Neuro: QAR, PLRs WNL, menace WNL, no ataxia

Behavior
KNOWN HISTORY:
Scout was brought in without any information on her behavioral tendencies in her previous home. She appeared friendly during intake and allowed all handling to be conducted.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Friendly, purring, allowing all handling, docile
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
Asleep in litter box on approach. Woke when spoken to, continued to lay in place. Leaned slightly into pets, too sleepy to interact further.
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor: Scout was sitting upright by the front and was calm, relaxed, and friendly.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Scout looks at the assessor and gently leans her head on the cage door, rubbing.
Reaction to cage door opening: Scout remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Scout accepts petting and leans in for cheek rubs. She begins to purr and is very sweet.
Reaction to being picked up: Scout remains calm and allows handling.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Easy Going
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner
Scout interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
