04/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Scout and at the time Scout was at the back of the cage. Scout body low with his eyes closed. He allowed petting all over but was nervous and lip licking. Reaction to assessor: Scout was hiding when I approach cage When spoken quietly: Scout continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: Scout retreats Reaction to touch: Scout allows petting with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Did not attempt due to Scout being fearful and stressed Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Scout was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. Although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
