I am a spayed female gray tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a SEIZED on 04/13/2017 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED.

04/25/2017 Exam Type MS NEW URI – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 15.9 LBS.
4/25/17 Moderate serous nasal discharge, sniffling, mild cheek puffing. Eyes are half-closed. These signs are consistent with URI and obstructed upper resp. PLAN: 1. Doxycycline 1.4 ml PO SID x10 days 2. LRS 300 ml SQ SID x5 days 3. Nebulize with gentamicin BID x5 days 4. Monitor appetite 5. Swab for URI pathogens and send sample to IDEXX 1088 —– **4/17/17 EXAM DUPLICATED BELOW: Hx: severely obese with difficulty in hind end due to BCS-doing better with buprenex; incidental urolith found on rads S/O: QAR, sweet girl, easy to examine mm pk, moist; CRT <2 sec eyes/ears/nose clear heart/lungs WNL soft, nonpainful abdomen significant irritation around vulva with some crusting and mild fecal staining; pruritic; p unable to groom in this area due to BCS A: 1. obesity 2. vaginitis-suspect due to difficulty grooming b/c of BCS 3. urolith-r/o struvite vs calcium oxalate P: convenia was given on intake; cleaned vulva with dilute nolvasan rec’d weight loss for long term control of decreased mobility and vaginitis suspect urolith may have developed secondary to vaginitis-rec’d cystotomy with stone analysis overall her prognosis is good with weight loss; this will likely allow her to be much more mobile and allow her to groom herself to prevent vaginitis and hopefully prevent reocurrence of urolith in the future

The cat did not look fractious the police brought it from whithin a cage but they stated that it did but the female officer on duty while responding to a call. She was bitten on the right hand on the thumb. The cat was tranfered from one of our cage by the overnight medical team. 04/16/17 17:42

04/21/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Bold, Shy, Timid MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 4/14/17- Observed Behavior – timid, hunched in back of kennel, did not eat, urinated on herself, very scarred, allows full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 4/17/17- Laying towards back, very tense posture, eyes dilated. Became more alert when door opened, but stayed in place. Sniffed treats, but didn’t eat. Tolerated pets with some lip licking. Ate treats after door closed, seemed to calm slightly. 4/18/17- Still seems wary. Laying next to litter box, eyes dilated, whiskers forward. Became alert when door opened and sat up. Initially moved away to avoid touch, then came back and lay down in same place, leaned into pets and closed eyes! 4/19/17- Huge improvement! Laying in litter box, alert, eyes fully dilated, very tense. Leaned away when offered treats, but stayed in place. Allowed, then started to lean into pets and purr. Wouldn’t come forward for treats, but ate those within reach. Later, came to the front, rubbed enthusiastically against bars! 4/20/17- Resting next to litter box, eyes still dilated, but much softer posture today. Continued to lay in place when door opened, leaned into pets, purred, closed eyes. Later, came to front, rubbed against bars, ate offered treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Scarlett looks neutral, crouched position on her cage bedding when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Scarlett remains with a soft body posture, lip licks, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Scarlett began to slowly retreat to the back, looking away. She seems unsure with her surroundings, however when touched she leans with her head in to the assessor’s hand. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Scarlett J tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
