07/21/17 18:12 Sasha is a 14 year old spayed female cat who was surrendered by her owner due to the fact that she has no time. The owner stated that she adopted Sasha from the ACC and she has had her for the past 13 years. The owner stated that Sasha has no known medical issues. Owner stated that Sasha is friendly and outgoing around stangers.When playing with adults she is gentle. She has not spent time around children so it is unknown how she will react. She also has not spent time in the home around other cats or dogs. Owner stated that Sasha does have litter box accidents. On the way to the ACC in the car she cried and meowed. Owner stated that Sasha does have litter box accidents a few times per month. She sometimes pees outside of the box and this has been going on for the past few months. Sasha’s owner never took her to the vet for this issue. Sasha has never had a bath or her nails trimmed so it is unknown how she will react. Sasha will tolerate being brushed. When being put in the carrier she was struggling to get away. Sasha isn’t bothered if she is held or disturbed while she sleeps. Owner described her as friendly affectionate and mellow with a medium activity level. When at home she likes to be in her favorite spot. She likes to play with cat dancers and she has been kept indoors only. Sasha eats Purina dry food. Sasha is mostly litter box trained but lately she has peeing outside the box. She is used to a hooded litterbox with clumping clay. Sasha will scratch on her scratching post made out of carpet and rough rope.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward strangers: Friendly and outgoing Behavior toward children: Unknown Behavior toward cats or dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes, but has been urinating outside the litter box a few times per month lately. Energy level/descriptors: Owner described her as friendly affectionate and mellow with a medium activity level. Other notes: When at home she likes to be in her favorite spot. She likes to play with cat dancers. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – friendly before exam but she turns and hisses and growls, (needed sedation for a full exam) become very aggressive EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Sasha approaches the front and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sasha rubs her head against the cage door and meows softly. She starts to knead and continues to solicit attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Sasha greets the assessor by the opening. Reaction to touch: Sasha head-butts and meows. She begins to purr, continues to knead, and leans in for more cheek rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Sasha remains calm and leaps back down after a moment. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Affectionate, Calm POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Inappropriate elimination – Sasha’s previous owners report that she was urinating outside the litter box a few times a month recently. We are unaware if any modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litter box should this behavior continue in a home environment. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Sasha interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
