SARA – A1079500
Safe - 7-6-2016 Brooklyn
***SAFE 07/06/16***STUNNING SARA, ALONE AND ON HER OWN….SARA is an eight year old who was apparently abandoned or lost and turned into the ACC as a stray. She is a mellow kind of lady who appreciated petting and attention but told the ACC when enough was enough with their plastic hand!! Nothing about SARA indicates that she should be on this list!! But she is and she only has until noon tomorrow along with 40 other cats on the day after a major holiday…..SARA NEEDS SAVING!! And someone in our audience can do that by applying to FOSTER or ADOPT!! [email protected] is available if you need foster/adoption/rescue info!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sara was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She allowed all handling upon intake, but resisted handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Sara was by the front, crouched over and is calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sara sniffs around and presses her head against the cage door, but becomes alert of her surroundings and looks around with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Sara remains alert. Reaction to touch: Sara sniffs he assessor’s hand and allows gentle petting when approached slowly. She leans in and appears to like cheek rubs and tolerates petting on the rest of her body. She swipes at the assessor’s hand mildly when she has had enough. Placement Determination: Experienced, No Children Sara tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
