***SAFE 04/26/16*** FIV+ tabby cat needs NEW HOPE rescue, tonight! Meet SANRIO, a handsome boy who was brought to the ACC on April 20th, most likely in a trap if one goes by the shelter notes. Like most sensible, intelligent animals, SANRIO immediately understood the danger posed to him by the ACC and as such, he has not gone out of his way to suck up to his captors. Unfortunately, that translates to a New Hope rating, and a date with death tomorrow. Please find a foster/adopter who is willing to work with a NEW HOPE rescue group, to give Sanrio a new beginning, tomorrow. Advocate relentlessly for him, tonight!

04/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Sanrio. At the time he had his back arched and hissed. Sanrio had a tense body and did not allow contact. Reaction to assessor: Sanrio does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Sanrio does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Sanrio becomes stiff and alert Reaction to touch: Sanrio hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Sanrio Behavior Determination: NewHope Sanrio was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Sanrio seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Sanrio may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
