***SAFE 02/01/16*** SAM IS A LOVING AND AFFECTIONATE GIRL WHO WAS DUMPED FOR ALLERGIES – NOW THAT SHE IS SCARED, SHE WILL DIE! SAM was dumped because someone in the family developed allergies. She is about 2 years old and spayed. SAM was said to have lived with both adults and children and was very relaxed around them. Sadly, this poor girl is terrified in the ACC and misses her family and is not letting anyone pet her. She was punished with a New Hope rating and sent right to tonight’s euth list. Sam doesn’t deserve to die. She is a wonderful house pet but only YOU can save her now. CONTACT A RESCUE TO GIVE SAM A CHANCE FOR A HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

01/27/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/27/16 11:29 BASIC INFORMATION Sam is a 2 1/2 year old Domestic Shorthair cat that was given to her prior owner when she was just two months old. She is a spayed, healthy cat who has gone to the vet on a yearly basis. Members of her family have developed extreme allergies and has come to the difficult decision to surrender her to a local shelter. Client hopes that she will find a new home in which no perimeters have to be set. She also wanted to express that if it wasn’t for her allergies she would have never given her up. SOCIALIZATION Sam lived in a home with many people. She lived with a mom, a dad, an 8yr old daughter and their 16yr old son. Sam is said to be relaxed and affectionate with her housemates. She plays gentle with both children and adults. She is weary of strangers. When visitors come over she tends to hide and be a bit shy at first. It takes her a few minutes to get adjusted to company but when she does, she will rub her head against their legs seeking attention. Sam has never lived with any cats or dogs so her behavior around them is currently unknown. She has never scratched or bitten anyone. BEHAVIOR Sam is said to have no current behavior issues. When she was first adopted she often scratched both on furniture and drapes. She owned her own vertical scratching post made of carpet material but she never showed any interest in it. Because the beahvior was repetitive and she couldn’t find anyway to correct the behavior she went to the vet and got her declawed. Sam isn’t used to any grooming methods such as bathing, brushing, or nail trimming. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Sam is described as a cat with a medium activity level who lives indoors only. When people were home she often followed them around. Her favorite toys are plastic bags and strings. She is used to eating dry food Iams brand. She was given a full bowl in the morning and she periodically ate from the bowl throughout the day. Her prior litterbox was uncovered and filled with Fresh Step clumping litter. INTAKE BEHAVIOR Upon intake Sam was calm. Her body remained relaxed throughout entire intake. She allowed to be picked up, rubbed, and collared by an admissions counselor. Sam scanned negative for a microchip.
