Basic Information:
Sam is an 8 year old domestic short hair cat who was surrendered with his housemate cookie due to their previous owner having medical issues.
Socialization:
Around strangers Sam is friendly, outgoing and plays gently with adults and children. Sam has spent time with children of various ages and was relaxed and affectionate around them. Sam has lived with one other cat whom he is relaxed and affectionate toward. Sam has never been around dogs so it is unknown how she will react to being around them.
Behavior:
Sam has never bitten/scratched another person or animal. Sam has no known behavior issues and is relaxed when riding in a car. Sam enjoys being given a bath, having his nails trimmed, being brushed, being picked up/held, being placed in a carrier, and isn’t bothered when being disturbed while resting/sleeping,
For a New Family to Know:
Sam is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and mellow with low activity level. When at home Sam will follow around his owner and likes to play with balls and string. Sam was kept indoors only and used a uncovered litter box with clumping litter Sam eats both wet and dry food.

Sam allowed staff to pick him up and place him in his cage and pet him with no signs of aggression.

Reaction to assessor: Sam was relaxed and sitting up at the front of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Sam leans forward to sniff the assessor then looks around at his surroundings.
Reaction to cage door opening: Sam remains calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Sam sniffs the assessor then gently leans in allowing petting and attention all over. He’s social, friendly and very affectionate.
Reaction to being picked up: Sam was a little tense when picked up but remained calm and allowed all handling.
